    Lost Ost Front Medal

I bought a nice Karneth Russian front medal from george 1996 in the Netherlands on the 4th April which has not turned up at my address in the UK. Would appreciate any comments and/or info that may help me to locate it.

Hi TooDeep, yes I bought this from Estand. George sent it without any tracking and when I speak to the Royal Mail, they say that they can’t do anything, that it’s up to the sender to start an investigation from his end, but that I’m entitled to a refund or replacement.
I’m not impressed with Royal Mail’s customer service at all, every time I speak to them they ask for more information, and then direct me to their website which doesn’t appear to have any means of registering the loss (or initiating a complaint)!!!
To be fair, I was expecting some sort of tracking to be included. I’ve also contacted PayPal, but as I paid with Friends & Family then they won’t cover the transaction.

            I hope it gets resolved.
I'm very reluctant to purchase anything over the net using paypal friends and family. The sender should have used registered post and provided tracking info.No decent buyer will mind paying the extra costs IMO.

              Thanks Troy,
My sentiments exactly. The post office tell me that they can do nothing unless the item’s got a tracking number and that any investigation needs to come from the sender. The sender (George1996) seems to have stopped any communication with me!!!
The po also tell me that ‘by law’ i’m Entitled to a refund or replacement (yeah, right)
I’ll certainly think twice about using eStand in the future!!!

It is a violation of the Paypal User Agreement for a seller to demand Friends/Family Payment for a business transaction.
That is a FACT and it is clearly spelled-out in black and white on Paypal's website.

Paypal stripped my collector-friend from Canada of his ability to receive any future Friends/Family Payments indefinitely after a buyer reported him for demanding and receiving such a payment for a business transaction.

One of the guidelines of listing merchandise on E-Stand OUGHT TO BE that sellers cannot demand Friends/Family Payments.
THE REASON: WAF should not endorse or permit the violation of Paypal's regulations by allowing sellers to demand Friends/Family payments.

On the other hand, sellers should be allowed ask buyers to cover Paypal's 4% fee for business transactions if so desired.

Neil,I would like to think the seller will get in contact with you and at least chase up the lost package or failing that offer you a refund as the PO says its the sellers responsibility to ensure the package is sent tracked and recorded/signed for if in fact this is whats covered in the postage costs.

The estand is very good in about 99% of cases from my own personal experience however I wouldn't buy anything this way unless the seller accepts paypal with buyers protection. Those who will only deal with bank transfer or family and friends option is something I choose not deal with now.

I fully agree with this statement and I can only hope e-stand rules will eventually be amended to in-cooperate this as part of any mandatory terms selling policy/agreements in the near future.
