Medal bar with 50-year Faithful Service Cross for review

    Hi Guys,

I've had this medal bar for many years and thought it time to get some opinions. The 50-year Faithfull Service Cross looks pretty beat up. Is it fake or real and just had a hard life? It seems in poor condition compared to the other medals, and if real, maybe it's a replacement and ground dug? As always, thanks for looking and thanks for all comments.

    All the best, Guy

Hello mate, my english is not the best, it is poor, but I will try to give you my sincere opinion. For me, the pieces of that ordensspange are original, the crosses are correct, 50 years service cross seems original, the bar also. For me, the problem is that this type of bar facilitates that the decorations can be put on and removed very easily, and the blue ribbon of that medal is suitable for many different decorations and it is impossible to know 100% if the assembly included that cross for 50 years of loyal service ... with that ribbon, fits perfectly a Prussian decoration, or many more.

Also, as you comment, the cross for loyal service is much more deteriorated than the other decorations. I think that this bar could include a Prussian decoration for years of service, this would be most likely, but I can not prove it.
    Regards
    Jose

Medal bar from my collection with this cross.... You can see that the blue ribbon is the same from some awards.

Thanks for your insight Jose, you make a very valid point. I guess there is no way of knowing what was originally there. Very nice medal bar by the way.
