You have been following my posts. Naw this ones a keeper with some sentimental value from my days in Germany in the 1980s. Im not sure what they are valued at and never took the time to learn the History. They all are made in Hamburg and have Hamburg 3 on the backside but you are correct on its name. I wonder if it was a stahlhelm award?

My response was related to Robert's i.e. this badge being an actual Hamburg branch of a Veteran's Association. I don't know which organisation instituted
this badge, but I would love learn more about it.

The German field decoration (also Hamburg field decorations called), was a "non-official honor" during the Weimar Republic. On an underground of grey metal jets a white enamel cross was applied with gilded blade between the arms of the cross. The Medaillon made of grey metal, set in a gilded wreath/ring, shows a completely equipped soldier. The signature on the back has the following text: "German field Ehrenzeichen/Ges.Gesch./Hamburg 11"
