What is about these Honour Crosses ?

They're abundant but I just can't help but buy them !

I bought these two in Germany last, and I think they're better than the boxed versions I have.

I just wanted to share these two common medals, thanks for looking.

              Hey Don,

Is that the hook on the front I see

I just love these common little medals, I get more satisfaction from buying these than....say a $500 combat badge.

So what were they awarded for.

                    Honestly haven't got a clue!

They were awarded for service -- either combatant or non-combatant -- during World War One. There was also a version (the black one, without swords) which was awarded to parents or widows of fallen soldiers. As such, they are (to me, anyway) important awards!

Now there's a nice case George, 3rd in from the left, white inserts and square cornered !!! Very nice and you don't often, if ever see this type........the yellowed insert rounded cornered one yes, you see.

I just love that brooched 'widow' cross and the mini's too, they must have used the same 'crosses; as such for these stick pins.

I think these, especially the cased examples, are really neat, especially for the price. I bought two at Stuttgart this month.
