Hats off to the guys who spend years doing this, keep focused, go through dry spells and finally arrive with these great collections; it's an inspiration. Really enjoy viewing these in the display forum; many great collections to see there.
I had a chance to get a few things this last week from a friend who owns a local antique store; but it was items outside what I collect; nice things, but I declined. I came back into collecting this stuff relatively late, so the distractions with disparate items has to go. Not easy to say no, but better to have quality over quantity.
(Now if I could just kick the King & Country toy soldier habit...)

Thats a stunning collection of single mounts and ribbon bars.I quite like how you have them displayed and photographed .
I have most of the matching ribbon bars for my single mounts/enzelspange and the ordensspange but it can take quite a while searching for them.I won't pay stupid money that some dealer want .Its nice to see the ribbon bar attachments on your anschluss medals-don't have any of them JC.
It clearly illustrates the differences in construction-I have seen a few strange types.

Not much credit due for the display & photography though. All my stuff is packed away in boxes so picts are my working tool and rather important if you collect variations. Tried group photos but mine are never good and besides, I have too many gaps to show nice "family pictures". However I get decent results if I take enough pictures of one item to choose from and this modular approach does allow me to move them around, reorganize them, as I find new items to fill gaps and even add text etc.
Regards
JC
