I agree with Thomas: looks like a nice 25 cross (magnetic?) on replacement ribbon judging from the edges

I agree with JC and Thomas. Based on the photos provided the weft threads are not looped on the edge of the ribbon as they should be.


Is the award itself magnetic ?

Some are, some aren't ... I have one of each, 1 iron and 1 faded 'Kriegsmetal'

Interesting...I didnt know they also made a "Kriegsmetal" version of this specific type/variant but I know of the iron and tombac versions. Here is a tombac one but it could be Kriegsmetal too: no way to say for sure except it didnt fade like you woud expect Kriegsmetal to fade

Thanks for the pict Ian. I see what you mean about fading but still a very nice cross! However it looks like its from a different maker (different design/die) than the one the OP and I posted which I was told came in either iron or tombac
