Medal bar opinion please.

Hello gents, I have this medal bar in my collection, the only one I got in all these time.
I' wondering if it's 100% legit or there something of manipulated.
Please let me know your opinions.

It's been played with.....

To begin with there's an extra loop on the Honour Cross, and the 25 year Faithful Service medal is hanging way lower than the other medals....I'm guessing there was another medal originally on there.

This one is easily fixed though, as the medals are removable so you could bring it back to it's former glory if you choose to.

thing is that nobody can tell, when it was "repaired" this way. of period - then its very interesting piece of history. if after the war, then restoration is at hand.

By removing one of the loops on the Honour Cross and raising it, and adding another Prussian Service medal to the end, it would probably bring it back to as it originally was.
The pic below is how I believe the last two medals would have been. The height of the hooks on the bar suggest this combo for the last two awards.

This one was fiddled with post war...no professional medal mounter randomly mounted medals up and down like that during the period. (some did in fact, but they were mounted very neatly unlike this bar)

There was no rule to use only official tailor shop to adjust it if soldier want it for display purpose, especially in the end of the war or after... Soldiers could done this simply by themselves even. Not all was done only as textbooks say.

Medal bars were done for dress occasions. No soldier would do a crap job on it such as this and then put it his Waffenrock or want it for display purposes. Once you use this "display" analogy you then open up the door to accept anything as original. Which then leads to having a collection with dubious items in it.

You are right Chet, I am not accepting this as original at all. I just try to open eyes to people who blindly believe only textbook items are legit.

Through my country German were trying to escapes from Eastern front. I found with metal detector weird things that would nobody accept as originals but still they really exist.
