So far I dont see anything really wrong with this one. What about your opinion, please? I am interested to buy it but this forum taught me always to ask before. Thank you.

Hi Josef,

Unusual to see a 1939 EK2 with a non-combatant Hindenburg Cross but certainly not impossible. A forty-plus year old policeman being decorated with an EK2 in WW2 is not unheard of. Generally I think the construction looks good. The only things I would take a closer look at would be the two areas circled in the picture below. The eyelet on the EK2 looks a bit thin and elongated. Also, I don't like the look of the ribbon for the Silesian Eagle. It appears that the ribbon edges have been stitched together to close up an opening. That looks sloppy and it does not match the way the other ribbons are furled.

I'm not trying to say that this is a postwar put-together medal bar, but these things do get played with in many cases. The more they get handled and passed from one collector to another the more likely things break and the original integrity of the bar is compromised via repairs and replacements.

EK suspension ring is typical to that maker so that should not cause any worry.

Regarding stitched ribbon - maybe it fell apart and soldier just used the fastest way to repair?

You are right about the suspension eyelet. It does look perfectly fine for many examples of EK2s by Friedrich Orth. My apologies!

The ribbon for the Silesian Eagle has still been messed with IMO. When and by whom? Who can really say.
