Hi Josef,

This one is an original General Assault Badge, made in Gablonz by either Rudolf Karneth or R. Kreisel. However, the catch and catchplate on the badge appears to be a replacement. The original catch on these was crimped into a round boss and there was no need for a catchplate.

Hi Josef,

This other badge does have a very believable look to it, but IMO it is a fake that is trying to mimic the Karneth or Kreisel design badge.

I would suggest posting it in the Heer/Waffen SS War & Qualification Badge section and see what others have to say about it. You might also want to post some closeup pictures of the hinge and catch on this one.
