          Hi Heinz

I agree, it looks like a good Deumer that has been polished or sanded a little on the right side of the eagle.

The fake Ostmedaille is a very bad one and easy to spot.
I attached some fakes that are not as easy to spot (just for the hell of it).

Do not touch the cover. You'll spoil the medal. Although, it is already spoiled.

A good East Medal by Wilhelm Deumer, Lüdenscheid. Too bad, though, that someone tried to shine a medal that is supposed to be dark in the first place.

                      Best regards,
                      Tom

                        Hello my friends,

                        Thanks for your comment!

Q: Why did you clean it?
A: I didn't like the soil, dust, which was buried by Vaseline. So I cleaned it.
Of course, my friends did not recommend it.
+ I am not cleaning this to polish. Who tries to polish the zinc material?

                        pic1:

And the blemish on the medal is not what I made.
It was just revealed that it was being covered.

                        pic2:

So what about the condition of this now?
cf. The 'average precipitation' in Korea was 300(mm) in 'September'.
It has a humid climate rather than most Europe.

but there was no rust and no further damage to the decoration Without Vaseline.

+ Heinz! If you hated dust and dirt, you should have chosen something else instead of buying it from the beginning! - But I liked the 'Deumer relief'....!

I think the 'personal' concept of Patina(verdigris) is that it creates rust(produced by oxidation or other chemical processes) in the decoration that contains 'copper'.

On the other hand, Patina in zinc material is not a normal oxidation, so it must be removed and the decoration preserved.
