The West Wall medal is out of precedence and is also a '44 issue zinc award in between a pre and an early war medal.

All the parts are real but ....

ahh understnad now. You are questioning the order set up. Maybe it would look strange to have two red ribbons next to each other. Could be added for time civil occassion as weddings for example.

              Hi guys,

Despite the order of precedence issue I think is is basically an original medal bar. But some good points have been raised in this discussion. I agree that it is very odd to see a 1944-issued zinc Westwall Medal on a bar that is by all other appearances an early WW2 (1939-1940) medal bar. I see that this is the type of bar that has clips under the ribbons so that the medals can be removed. Perhaps this bar originally had a tombak-bronze Westwall Medal which was removed and replaced with a zinc Westwall. It is also a possibility that this bar was stripped of all of its medals at some point in time and that none of them are original to the bar. We can never be absolutely sure when the medals can be easily removed on a bar such as this. But I would have no problem owning this medal bar. I would however remove the zinc Westwall and replace it with an early one.

              Best regards,
              Tom

It is not a bar that I would be completely comfortable with due to the issues mentioned.

what do you think about medal order Tom or the others, please? I can imagine medal bar was assembled late war with early received cross? Or just that westwall was replaced.. who knows.. but more questionable can be the medal bar order of the medals.

Tom has stated what can be stated. Everything else is nothing but a feeling of "I want/don't want it in my collection". From these pictures there's nothing wrong concerning the originality for me.

                        Peter,
I completely agree with you. The original poster asked for "opinions" to which I expressed mine. Case closed....

question os not whether are medals original, that is clearly visible from the pictures but why westwall is in middle but not in the end.

Any other medal bars in your collections with such mistake or how to call it, please?
