Ostmedaille for Review

Hello all,

I bought this Ostmedaille and packet in a group with a Wherpass and Award document (both authenticated on this forum) to a man who won the award posthumously. After reviewing member Sveimhugi's Ostmedaille database, I realized that this medal does not belong with this packet, but then again I was unable to match it up against any of the know originals....Can someone help me identify which manufacturer made this medal?

Hi Nathan,

It might not be a matched set, but a nice East Medal and nice packet. Perhaps Sindri will see this thread and be able to ID the East Medal for you. I assume there is no maker marking on the suspension ring?

Yes, the ring is unmarked, as it would be much easier to identify if it were marked!

Your right, IMO the set does not match.
Nice uncommon pouch though

Medallie seems to be a OM3 / Deumer.
But its a little hard to make out due to the condition of the medaille.

I can agree with that. I was having the same issue due to the medal having zinc pest on the obverse.
