So actually 2 questions -
1. Are awards authentic?
2. How to keep them - as one bar or separately?

Hi Mike,
I can't comment on the awards themselves, but the order in which they are mounted is incorrect. The Eastern Front medal should come before the Czech one. It looks like the bar could have been the victim of an unresearched restoration project. The ribbons appear very new looking & if you search this section for 'medal bars' you will find many fine examples of such mounting, & you will notice how well these are finished at the rear compared with your bar.

I see that the ribbons look very new, I understand that it is not prussian style of mounting and back plate is also too modern. But what about awards? Are they fakes?

Please help me. I need say smth to dealer. Is it worth to buy the medals or its better to return them as fakes.

Hi Mike

I bellieve that the bar is fake i.e. made after the war, it has two prongs missing, the far left prong seems tampered with, ribbons to new compared with the medals, wrong placement of ribbions/meddals, IMO the ribbons should have been sewn together on the back with black sewingthread.

But IMO the medals are real

The ribbon bar itself is set up in the pre-1915 style. Definitely not in accord with TR regs...
