Hi Alex, I don't like it due to the pock marks and scratches that can be seen under the finish.

    Cheers, Ade.

      Thank you, for your opinion,
but does it concern to condition of the medal, or to its originality ?

      Thank you in advance
      Alex

Hi Alex, sorry I should have been clearer. I do not think the medal is original because of these marks.

Mine is made from zinc and has the usual bubbled look to the finish.

        Cheers, Ade.

Were not all these made out of Zinc. Here is my Zinc example. Alex I see a possible "1" maker mark on your ring like mine?

Hi guys, My booksays that the medal was made of fine zinc that was guilded. There is a Spanish made version of this medal, but that the suspension ring on top of the medal looks more like a ball. I think I remember someone posting one here sometime back. Mine is definately made of zinc and is quite dull. This medal is surely under rated as far as scarcity is concerned.

Here is mine, as last night it was getting late to take photos

                Ring is unmarked.

                Cheers, Ade.

                    Thanks All,

                    You are right
Strange combination a good condition and set of scratches,
absence of bubbling is a bad sign, as well.

So, let's wait more info, it was already been requested.

                    all the best

                    Alex

There are not any marks on the medal.
So, what is a conclusion ?

                      Thanks for helping

                        Hello, it's me again

Have a look at the next Spanish blue medal
                        looks so attractive.
It was produced by the firm of Deschler,
the medal is maker marked No. 1 on the ribbon loop.

                        Thanks for looking

                        all the best
                        Alex
PS: here we can see traces of zinc's bubbling

I like this second one better Alex, simply because of the bubbling, which you would expect on Zinc Badges. However, I havent seen many with the all the Gilding still intact. Usually they are just dull zinc finish left (other than Adrian's which shows a little left). That doesnt mean yours is not good. Can you post a picture of the "1" maker mark?

                              Thank you,

                              Yes, it looks more attractive,
however, one thing is still worrying me,
there is perhaps more gilding on it, than it could be expected

                              all the best
                              Alex

PS: could this medal be recoloured ?
