I'd like to see clear shots of the eagle and pebbling if possible ? The fake Souval I have was non-magnetic

A photo of the inner arms of the cross would be helpful also.

Ok, so I've just dug out my Souval ... it is non-magnetic and weighs ~15g (hard to be precise as it has a sewn on ribbon and LW eagle device) mine had a miss-strike to the edges of the cross and inner disc which left a step on the top edge of the 3 o'clock arm.

The 'inner arms' are the lines that follow the outer edge of the arms ... the Souval ones often have anomalies where the lines run out. Also the eagle on mine shows clear signs of being cast but that's only visible under magnification.

Here is the thread showing my original and Souval pieces, complete with images and comparison shots kindly added by Tom ..

                  Hope this helps, Ian.

I do not think that the cross pictured in this thread is a Souval copy.

Although I have been wrong before.

Look at the jump ring of the cross pictured here and the one referenced in Ian's thread.

If the poster had not indicated that the cross is non magnetic I would have guessed that it was magnetic because of the thickness of the jump ring.

Thick jump ring on the cross posted here and a thin ring on Ian's

In my experience (in my collection) the thin type jump ring is usually found on non magnetice crosses. The thick type on magnetic. Applies to 18 and 25yr crosses.

thanks for every ones help, when I took the pictures, the pictures was the best ones that I could get, I couldn't get the Eagle to focus very good. when I looked at the cross, I don't know if this is normal or not, on the edge of the cross where the arms of the cross come together to the round part, it looked a little rough, what I mean is I could see like file or grinding marks under the finish, and on the ring, If you look close in the picture you can see scratches on the ring. the ring itself seemed to be sealed together, there was no open space. I hope this can help, I can go next weekend and try to get better pictures. Brian

This is mine with the luftwaffe eagle, also a non-magnetic version in individual pin.
The thickness of the ring is impossible to know because you would have to disassemble the pin
