A good Scanner for Badges and Crosses.

    Hello guys

I need to get Scanner as the light conditions aint the best in Iceland these months, and the few times they are, I am at work.

I got a "Canon Lide220" witch is not good at all, has no "depth".

Witch brand or type would you recommend ?

    All the best from Iceland

    Forget any "Lide" scanners

I am using Canon 9000F Mark II. Before Canon 5600F, but this model is probably no more at the market.

    greetings

For years I have used the EPSON PERFECTION 2480 PHOTO scanner and it does an outstanding job. See the accompanying scan.

I doubt it is available anymore but perhaps a newer EPSON scanner might work as well.

Sorry for this question, but how does one put the badges into the scanner?
          There is no space?

              Hi,

here examples of scans made with my Canon (at open lid).

I suppose, not very few users had opportunity to compare more different models. Except of general quality, most important is depth of scanning. Probably all scaner, which can scan films, have them.

              greetings

On my scanner, the lid has a hinge that can be "lifted" for an inch or so, leaving space for most badges to easily fit under the lid.

For larger objects, the hinge can be slipped out of its securing point to free up more space under the lid.

Here is an example of the latter, a scan of a 1/35th scale vehicle laid on its side.

Yes, in my scanner the lid could be lifted, too. I am using open lid to receive black background

Thank you for your replies and recommendations!

Wow these are all really good good scans. Almost seems like every scanner except mine does an outstanding job

These higher grades Epson and Canon are really good, I will take a badge with me to the shop and try it out before I buy hehe.

                      All the best

Thanks for bringing this subject up.
I had the same issues, my old scanner died and my new one sucks.
I was looking for something new that would scan with good depth.
