Original medal bar and I like the case too. However, I suspect that the bar has been messed with to a certain degree. The order of the two long service decorations is not correct and the 18-Year LS is hanging haphazardly and too low. Perhaps the bar originally consisted of the 12-Year/4-Year combination and the 18-Year was added later. And seeing exposed prongs for the eagle devices on the reverse leads one to suspect that the devices were replaced at some point in time. Hard to be certain exactly what went on here. Still a very nice and interesting bar.
Here is a medal bar to a former member of the Baltic Division. Notice that this bar also has an incorrect placement of the Luftwaffe Long Service Decorations, just like on the bar that started this thread. Seeing an incorrect placement such as this should never be viewed as a disqualifying feature in and of itself. Mistakes and misinterpretations of the regulations are frequently seen on original medal bars.

As I mentioned in post #4, seeing exposed prongs of the eagle devices on the reverse could indicate replacement at some point in time. Then again it could just be how it was made originally. For every rule and guideline there always seem to be exceptions. Here is a medal bar that has exposed prongs on the reverse. Holes were drilled through the metal backing plate and the eagle devices were added after the backing cloth was attached. Seldom seen on medal bars, but apparently it did happen from time to time.
