Question on this pile of ribbon bars

    Hello all,

I have these ribbon bars here. I would like to know if all the combinations are possible. The longest and the one without the wool backing I am uneasy about and wouldn't be surprised if postwar put together using original parts. Any feedback on these would be greatly appreciated.

I don't blame you for being concerned about your long bar. The order of precedence along with some of the awards represented make it very dubious.

Take the Austrian WW1 Commemorative Medal in position Nr 3, for instance. Why is it placed right after the Hohenzollern Knights Cross and before the Hindy, the Hamburg Cross, and the Austrian MVO3? Its proper place is right after the Hindy.

The most puzzling is the Grubenwehr Ehrenzeichen (with swords???) in position Nr 5. What is a mine-rescue award doing with wartime awards, and why does it have a swords-device? Did this guy do battle with the underground gnomes from Götterdämmerung?

The Hamburg War Merit Cross ribbon has a swords-device. This is never seen on genuine ribbon bars.

As far as your bar with the metal tabs... it looks fine to me. Very standard... very credible. No need to discount it simply because it is not a fabric-backed bar.

The rest of your bars are very nice. I like them a lot... especially the Ostkämpfer bar with two Rumanian awards.

                Hi,

                The 11-Placer is a fake.
                Rest is OK.

                I really like the 6- and 7-Placer.

                Best,
                Nicolas

I like the bottom 3 very much.
