    Generalkommando XXXXi Meissen Plate

I like this plate. There is everything here - a tank, an iron cross, a tactical sign

Is there a primer on how to tell originals from the current bunch of fakes & reproductions coming out of Russia? (easily sourced on Ebay)

Sorry, did not quite understand. I saw copies on ebay. What is the connection with this plate?
Do you ask this question because I live in Russia?
I think the original plate is very easy to distinguish from ebay-fakes.

It's a fake copy. It is so poor that it can not even be called a fake. And every person understands that for $ 40 there can not be a real Meissen product.

              1. No marking size.
              2. No holder and holes
              3. Crossed swords are incorrect
              4. No marking of the table / workshop
              5. The diameter of the fakes is 20 cm, instead of 25.

                Hello halle,

My apologies - I did not mean to dispute the authenticity of the plate you posted at the start of this thread.

I have just noted many reproductions out of Russia recently. While Ebay reproductions are listed and priced as such, someone may wish to purchase these and sell them as original at a military show or boot-sale.

Your tips on how to authenticate an original Meissen are appreciated - thank you.

                  Hello,Scott !

I am also unhappy with the situation with these copies. I always show the original plates from my collection in russian forums. A month later I see a copy of this "manufacturer".

I can not do anything. Remains only consolation - perhaps this is an assessment of the quality of the collection?

I will continue to show interesting plates on WA.

Yes, please do . I was tempted by a reproduction Legion Condor Meissen plate I saw on Ebay (listed as a repro) ... no doubt an authentic example would be very rare.
