West Wall Medal

Came across this West Wall Medal this evening... it looks like a good one to me, is it a brass example? Would like to get your thoughts and opinions on this one? Thanks in advance..

Yes, early bronze/brass and a fine original, imo.

Crispy mint early original. The ribbon is fake.

Thanks very much for your help.. I didn’t like the ribbon as there is no typical visible weft, had a feeling it was a fake Ian as you said but the details of the Medal looked good to me...

Like that RAD bar with the devices!

I hope that I am wrong here, but those devices on that RAD bar look very weak to me, (especially the castle bar). These are certainty out of my area, but I would love to hear some other opinions on this bar and it's devices. They look extremely cast and flawed to me. I also do not like how the ribbons are so uneven and out of proportion. Just my thoughts!

Ok, I guess it was just the lighting in the photos. One thing that I saw in the photo, was the way the oakleaves around the sides appear to be incomplete and misaligned, (to me). But, like I said, I'm glad that it is good. I have been keeping an eye out for similar bars, but they are quite scarce.

Sadly not everything they made were perfect ... look at the great detail of the miniature medals here ..



The accurate polished areas etc but then look at the punched out hilts of the swords

Beautiful minis guys: love the Westwalls! We tend to forget but considering how small these are (most ribbon bar minis are about 9mm) I think they are very nice and I doubt manufacturers intended these to be scrutinized with macro photography 75 years down the road when they made them...
