      Hi Ron,

That green ribbon with the red borders looks more like the Anhalt Kreuz für Kämpfer (Friedrich War Cross).

Besides, it is positioned before the Long Service ribbon. You would normally find the Prinz-Regent-Luitpold Jubiläums-Medaille positioned after the Long Service ribbon (based on the regs of 1940 August) unless the owner was still following the pre-war regs of 1939.

The owner of this bar was not following the regs by positioning the War Merit Cross ribbon after the Hindenburg Cross ribbon. Its proper place should be immediately following the EK2 ribbon unless he was still following the regs of 1939 which did not address the position of the War Merit Cross because there was no war taking place at the time. So, prior to 1940 August, the owners of these bars had to "select" the most logical position for the WMC which generally ended-up being right after the Hindy.

        Thank you for your advice.

Was using a chart to identify that ribbon, and it appeared to be this one, but your experience trumps my lack of knowledge in this area.

          Hi Ron,

one of the disadvantages of growing old is color-dyslexia! The ribbon I called the Anhalt War Cross ribbon is the diametric opposite of the Prinz Regent medal ribbon.

I was looking at your picture and actually called the red ribbon with green borders the green ribbon with red borders. I think it's time to check myself into the rest home, I'm afraid.

You were absolutely correct in your I.D of the Bavarian ribbon.

By the way... your LW ribbon bar is stunning!

            Ron,

A lovely little group, although the order of precedence is a little out of order.

That ribbon could also represent the Bavarian Golden Wedding Jubilee Medal.

            Kind regards
            Pierce
