    New Ostmedaille

Here I have my last adquisition, a modest Ostmedaille marked L/12.

I check the Ostmedaille database and found that normally not marked, but it sports all the features from a Junker made one.

Comes in an Steinhauer & Lück packet.

        Hello Angel

Well, its always a little hard to say when you dont have the items in hand but:

The pouch is IMO a repro, prob from the same "makers" of the OM45 (Jungwirth) and VWA/black 45 (Jungwirth) pouches.
They look quite convincing, but when looked closer they dont add up.
The printing / font and "makers mark" on the back is not right.

        The medaille is interesting.
At first glance I am not very fond of it either, never liked the thin matte silver finish or the excess material found by the helmet and knob.
In combination with the "drop" like shape and open band ring it does not start to look better.
Ostmedaillen to my knowledge were never LDO marked, only Souval (L/58 but (postwar).

BUT with these pictures its very hard to tell for sure, you may have hit the Jackpot but I would not put allot of money on it.

If you could post clear big fotos, front and back would help allot, especially "Lorbeere" branch on the back and toes on the front.

        Best regards from Iceland
        Sindri

Tomorrow I try best photos and post them here.

It was not overpriced for an Ostmedaille
