Question on Ost Front Medals

I know there were 140+ manufacturers of this medal. Some are marked on ring. Some aren't.

The question is - did the makers with known marks ALWAYS mark the rings? Or can you find medals from a maker with a known mark that has an unmarked ring?

Where did you get the number of 140 manufactures of the Ostmedaille from ?
To my knowledge they are far less.

Yes there are unmarked OMs around from makers that also had marked ones.

Sascha Weber lists 147 manufacturers in his book "Die Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 (Ostmedaille)" published this year.

Ahh.. yes

Thats all the makers that are known listed there, 140 something. The ones highlighted are the ones that produced the Ostmedaille.
Around 60 made the Ostemdaille.
