8 Year SS and minatures

Hi Guys
I have been offered another 8 year SS award but this one comes with two minatures. Again I have checked my own files and done a search for 8 Year SS. I am pretty sure the full size is o.k. but I have no idea about the minatures.
Opinions please, good or bad greatly appreciated.
You will see that the photos are far better than the ones I posted on the other award ( new camera) but the colour is still lighter than on the original awards.

Hi There,

I also have an SS 8 year and a single miniature. Both are court mounted for some reason. Out of your 2 minis, the darker one looks identical to my own, there are some pic's on an older thread if you check my posts, but I will try and produce some better ones now I have more idea of how to work my camera !

You sent me photos of your awards a few weeks ago when I was looking for an 8 year SS .
I asked the seller about the lighter coloured minature and he says that he cleaned it a couple of years ago when he first got it as it was almost black and it's only started to dull down now

Sorry Les I remember now. Well, they look like nice medals and at least he didn't get busy with the Brasso on them, so perhaps the patina will return over time? As the seller is being so forthcoming, any idea why he has 2 miniatures but only one fullsize?

Not sure how one can go about authenticating SS 8 year minis..would like to hear something about what to look for...also I think there is no consensus on what to look for in SS 4 year full size medals, although the SS 8 year full size medals are easy to authenticate.

I am still looking for a min of the 4 year medal. Has anyone seen one and better still has one to sell me?
