    Afrika medaille

    Hello

Got this one the other day

    Is everything ok ?
To me it seems to be a type:

    B-c (with Matthias, www.feldzugsmedaille.com system) or a
type 2.2 or 2.3 with Antonios Sc. system, from the book "Italian - German Medal for the African campaign".

Thank you for taking a look.

It is an original type 2.3.
Look at the die flaws on the crocrodile right arm and on the left shoulder of the german soldier.
I'm disappointed on the classification of the site, since it is simply a change of name, and in this hobby is only a useless confusion. Luckily I never heard about someone who use it around the world.

    My books:

    - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
    - THE SS TK RING
    - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
    - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
    - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

    and more!

Very True Antonio! Only one classification system needed for this medal, and it exists in your book, and on the WAF.

Nice example shown, and I like the faded ribbon!

      Best,

      Jeff

Thank you for your answer Antonio! Really appreciate it

For my "Afrika medaille" untrained eyes its hard to see the difference of a Late production 2.2 (as shown on page 53 in your book) and the type 2.3.
Both have the flaw on the crocs right (and left) arm and so forth.
But I will get smarter with time

I am happy to learn new things, and am grateful for your help, thank you

Well imo there is no need to be disappointed that the site has a different system.
I think there is nothing wrong with it if someone researches the medaille and makes his own system based on his own discoveries. Its just up to us if we use it or not.

        Anyway, thanks again!
