I've never seen one like this before.

Looks like that's an Oak leaf on the front, correct?

I'd love to hear comments on this one.
          Regards,
          Chris

                  Michael,

the guy to talk to would be Gaspare, he is really up on these rings. I would say its a repro looking at it as its an odd design and overly "nazi" with those two swastikas on the sides. It looks like a quality ring but again its not really my thing. Matt

So you personally found this? If not it could be just another story.

I don't think it was a soldier made ring. Might be a private purchase possibly, but what the Oakleaf represents Other than some rank or possibly jaeger....I cant fathom. Lithuania is a red flag...i wouldn't touch a story or ring personally from anyone who says they dug one from there...that's where they make em every day , and make a good living rippin off the west selling them on e bay etc..., fake ageing and all. Anything over 20.00 is too much for this one IMO good or bad.. I'm voting its likely a repro .

                        - you guys know and have seen what ground dug pieces look like,,many have dug pieces in their collections,,now I ask: Does this look like a dug piece??
I don't care who says what, not only a fake but it is a fantasy piece.......

If it is silver it won't look groung dug.

There are other obvious things that also give clues that its more than likely bogus. Sorry to be so pessimistic...but i wont mention them also for obvious reasons. I think you need to show a good close up of the mark for us to see.

The ground still does things to silver you can see,,dents, mis shapens, split sizing seams etc. Stamps are cheap to make too.

Look at the basic ring itself..The ring/band is a simple oval cartouche blank. Usually for engraving initials on.
Some 'artist' made a wax oak leaf and swastikas and applied them to the standard wax model for the band and it was all investment cast [and not even finished well].
Simple, and has been done for many many years.. This thing has been around a long time.
