    Tombak ost medal?

It just looks awesome, feels different from a zinc medal; there is no way this one is zinc. Now, full tombak or tombak overcoat i dont know. Just look at the edges, they look hand finished and not cast. No bubbles or anthining, and also the core looks blued rather than painted, however the silver is painted (with a precise brush i presume)

Many years ago there was a discussion here on WAF about the possibility of Ost Medals made from tombak. It went that far that some people start to scratch and saw into their medals to make a final statement. IMO no pieces were made from tombak. But they were pré- coated with brass indeed. That was one of the 22 production steps of these medals. I also assume that there were differences in the quality of the zinc alloy

Yes I saw that thread also not so long ago, a interesting one
IMO also they were all made from Zink, but very different in quality.
Like for example I have never seem a "bubbled" OM51, OM63 or OM71.
The Gablonzer makers were of very good quality.

Your OM looks like a Deumer, but I dont really like the material of the Bandring, it looks a little odd, but is prob just the lighting, a little overexposed I guess

It is always nice to see the beautiful OST. To bad that they are very underrated.
For me one of the most beautiful design of all medals.
