Panzer Table Medals

This one is only embossed on the front: PZ. ABW. ABT. 6 – HERBSTFAHRT – 1938

It appears to be a table medal from the formation of Panzer Division 6 of the 6th Infantry Division in 1938. I believe it was later, 10 December 1940, to become Tank Destroyer Division 6 and, in March 1944, Sturmgeschutz Division 6.

The back of the table medal has no markings.

I believe it is made out of aluminum.

The next two Table Medals are from Panzer Regiment 1; the first dated 30 September 1936 and the second dated 26 October 1938.

Panzer Regiment 1 was an element of the 1st Panzer Brigade, 1st Panzer Division. The 1st Panzer Division was formed on October 15, 1935 from the 3rd Cavalry Division.

Just a few highlights of Panzer Regiment 1’s combat history include:

The 1939 drive northeast into Poland, rapidly penetrating toward Warsaw.
The 1940 advance into France through the Ardennes forest. First Panzer Division came within 25 km of Dunkirk.
The 1st Panzer fought in Army Group North advancing northward through Estonia. With the city of Leningrad cut off, 1st Panzer Division formed part of the general attack against the city perimeter on September 1941.
In October, 1 Panzer Division joined the drive toward Moscow reaching some 50 km from the Russian capital.
During early 1944 the division took place in the relief of the Korsun-Cherkassy Pocket.

They surrendered to the US Army in 1945.
