Show your German Medal/Ribbon Bars With Italian Order of the Crown

I want to see your German medal bars/ribbon bars with the Italian Order of the Crown. (I don't have one, yet) I started a thread in the Italian forum asking if records indicate how many Orders were awarded to Germans prior to and during WWII, but received no responses.

Nice idea for a thread, although I think there is a thread specific to bars with foreign orders. Have you checked that one yet? Although it's not specific to this order.



Otherwise, I have bars with this order and can contribute as time permits.

I've read that this order was awarded in large numbers and was awarded more frequently so as not to dilute the importance of other, higher Italian orders.

Yep: 4 pages of great bars, but none with the ICO. I also did a search in this forum for "Italian" and got 9 pages of threads. I didn't review every thread (most involved DAK medals), but I found one photo of beat-up ribbon bar with an ICO 3rd Class, and one period photo of a LW officer wearing an ICO on his medal bar. That was it.

Otherwise, I have bars with this order and can contribute as time permits.

This is the only one I have. Unfortunately the Italian Order of the Crown was not mounted to the bar but simply pinned to the end.

Wow, Tom, I know little of Italian decorations but that is one beautiful medal bar and even better, a matching photo. Do you know the name of the officer and the circumstances that might have led to him receiving the award?
