    SS 8 Year Medal Question

I have several SS 8 year medals, but this one is different. The eyelet is not bevelled and the ring is cut for attachment to the ribbon.

Is this a maker I am unaware of or just a post war copy?

    Thank you for any help.

Thank you, Alex. I had never seen such high die struck quality copy. Do you think it may be a Souval piece?

It is a Souval copy Bob.

            My books:

            - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
            - THE SS TK RING
            - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
            - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
            - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

            and more!

Bob, it's,not the Souval design. It's very close in design to the Souval postwar made medals. However the runes are aligned a little different on the swastika than with the Souval medals for example. Here is an old thread showing a Souval variant - check the position of the runes...
I also have the same medal that came from a postwar S&L vet grouping. So postwar S&L for me. A very interesting piece IMO

              Best regards,
              Alex
