    Ostmedaille ID

What do you think about this unmarked ostmedaille, there is a like tombak finish to see at the helmet vent holes.

Some early zinc and iron awards had a copper plating applied before the final finish

Here is a shot of the reverse of my magnetic 18 Year Wehrmacht Service Cross to demonstrate a copper plating on the '8'.

Very nice Ost, Green! These are the only ones I want in my collect...the copper coated ones. The zinc will have to destroy the copper before it can get to the beautiful finish!

      Regards,

        Thanks for the information
Just one question, are they rare or common

Uncoated zincers are FAR more common ... quite what ratio they are I couldn't speculate. Yours is a particularly fine example in my opinion
