    War merit medal real or fake ?

    Hi

    Im new to this, Collection medals. But for a year Ago i just bought a medal for fun but now when i Will start to collect i have bought some books and Saw the medal i got is a war merit medal (civil) so im nos Wondering if its real or not. Also hos can i see if its real ? (Have the Book "parade medal bars of the theird reich)




    Anything to do to get it better looking or should i never do that ?

      Looks real to be but in very poor shape. These things cost about £10 so you might want to think of getting a better example

        You won't buy a nice one for £10 but £30 will get you a very nice set with the presentation envelope, unused ribbon, wrappings and even a ribbon bar ..

          Thanks guys! Any because this is a cheap medel its probebly not so many fake but is it hard to spot fake? Or Will i not so to many misstankes because of the Book i got?


          Also, know a good site i can buy from?

            The old fakes lack detail and finish as they were castings. The latest seem to be laser-cut and are implausibly sharp in detail. I don't know that I've ever seen a fake KVM though ?

              I would say stay away from this medal, it is in bad condition.
              You should not have any problem to find a nice one.

              There are some Swedish dealers that normally have this one in stock.

                Put the envelope and ribbon under a backlight. If they glow then walk away because they are made using modern dyes.
