    Opinions on Gold Tank Destruction Badge

    I would be interested to hear your opinions on this gold TDB which has been offered for sale by several dealers over the years (images shown from Helmut Weitze / Hermann Historica / Andreas Thies). Apologies if an earlier discussion thread exists on it. Thanks in advance.

        Thanks for posting your beauty for comparison Ron!

        I realize the photos are not great, and the badge I posted has numerous differences to that posted by Ron, but I am surprised no one has declared it a fake or repro.

          There is a variant of the silver tank destruction badge that has an oversized tank and the black stripe threads do not run lower left to upper right. This variant is quite rare (but is original) and is often declared a fake for two reasons:
          1) it does not match the textbook version (with the smaller tank and lower left to upper right thread stripes;
          2) it looks very similar to the Floch fakes.
          As a result, I wonder if a gold version exists that is similar to this silver variant???

                More images

                Thanks for the replies so far, but just in case anyone was on the fence, here are a few more images of the first item.

                If it would help perhaps these later images should be posted in the section of know fakes?
