Ribbon Bar Dilema ... leave or restore

Good afternoon, I'd like to ask your opinions and suggestions on this ribbon bar ...

    reverse ..

I have it on the very best authority it stands a very good chance of being original but the swords device on the Ostvolk 2nd Class in Silver has broken off leaving just the prongs.

SO ... the dilemma : What would you do ? Restore using a fake silver swords device ? Try to obtain an original silver swords device ? Leave it as is and enjoy it for what it is ... a rare original bar ?

    Over to you guys.

    Cheers, Ian.

I would leave it at the dealer since I am not a big fan of it. But thats just my opinion.

In general I prefer untouched stuff rather then messed with, even if its broken... But again, its every man for him self.

Well The general rule for artifacts is only muck with something if it will deteriorate without restoration.

In this case I would just leave it alone as any collector will accept that the swords fell off after 70 years.

I wouldn't touch it me too Ian, it would be not a so easy restoration as it seems.
Of course, nothing impossible, but the risk to ruin the bar should always be considered.
