2 Medal Bars

Pretty excited.... just received my first 2 Medal Bars

As this is a brand-new area of collecting for me, I'd really appreciate any comments or feedback.

I think I'm going to get hooked on these things now...

Hi Brett

Nice medalbars indeed. The one with the 25 and 40 years DA,s you can see that the 25 year was worn until the 40 year was awarded, hence the wear. It seems that he decided to have the bar made when he recieved the 40 years and didn't want to buy new ribbons or medals.

It amazes me how (with some of us) our collecting focus changes over time. I've been back in the hobby seriously for the last 6 years now and had never really looked twice at medal bars.

Now all of a sudden I'm smitten with the darn things...

Both require great skill in my opinion, so thank you mailman, it made May Day.

I have long loved medal bars,they can tell great stories, like the 25 year ribbon. It's interesting that the ribbon appears to have been kept, and that the mounting includes both 25 and 40 years medals, which went against regulations it thought.
