    Unknown award

    Hi!

I thought I'd help a guy out on another forum, to be nice and all. So I am asking you guys, what do you know about this award? What kind of award is it?

    It says
"Zur erinnerung an dir kriegsjahre in Deutschland Süd-West Afrika" and on the backside "In Trutziger wehr für Deutschland ruhm & ehr".

    best regards
    Wagner

Bootmanager, I understand that it is a medal with a ribbon, but I wonder for what cause this award is given and during what time period? I was wondering if anyone could identify this particular medal.

Is it from WWI or WWII? Maybe pre or maybe post war?
Was it given to soldiers or civilians? For what reason?

can you make close ups of the medal - from what i see now, it can be a medal for south west africa (where a german colony was).
those medals could be bought at veterans parties or at medal supplyer shops (for those with a small bravery medalbar - those could get inoficial ones for feeling "braver")
but it is definately ww1 or after it (no ww2)
until you post better pics, its all i can say christian

                  bierzipfel

Student - the soldier was pupil of a university. And probably war participant into Afrika.Das Ek 2 does not belong to so. One made this Bierzipfel as affiliation Studentencorps + for memory of the war. That is stop tradition in Germany - to translate is not easy.

i looked up my reverences, and i have seen two times more this bierzipfel with the eagle advice together with this medal (so perhaps they belong together)
the ek II for sure not (look at the part of ribbon attached to the ring in a "sensless way")
