    Mounted Afrika Campaign medla

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=874291

Hi guys, saw this on the e-stand. The medals look good but I've never ever seen a parade mounted DAK campaign medal before. Looks to be privately done maybe by the soldier. As there's no ring it's a creative way of doing it. But since its so uncommon, I would really appreciate some feedback or reference to another (picture) example of this. It's beautiful, but I'm a bit in disbelief here.

No issues with that bar (or the others). Since the Afrika campaign medal did not have a suspension ring like other medals, tailors devised various methods to mount them on bars. As you have noted it is scarce to find these on bars (note that these and other Italian awards were forbidden to be worn after the Italian surrender).

        Hi Hauptmann 109

Hello, as the mates say, italian medal has a strange ring, and all bars I have seen have a unusual assembly.

Please, see other example from my bars collection.... other strange assembly (I bought it to Giel, some years ago).
        Thanks Gary and Antonio!
        Regards
        Jose
