Hi guys can anyone help a noob please?
I'm trying to find any info on the brass plaque pictured.

Probably a souvenir plaque of a military course. The text means "Course for Body- and Close Combat Training" .

Cheers mate, so you think it may be an actual period award or just a fantasy item?

I believe it is a physical fitness and close combat training course. Not sure exactly where the course was or what unit conducted it, but I believe the IV may represent the person who received the plaque was either the 4th highest grad or took 4th place in some sort of competition. It looks original to me.

Also, it appears that there are some small letters in the inner circle that I can't make out in your photos. These may indicate the designer of the plaque or more information about the course/competition, but you'll have to post better photos to show that.

Dale is right! It's a nice item, given to a soldier of Austria's "Bundesheer" of 1. Republic. The item itself is not rare here in Austria, but the engaving is nice!
