They look like the latter pattern, gold lacquered finish. How do you feel about them?

The gold lacquer finish browns as it ages so sometimes it can be tricky. Look at the reverse, and compare it to a known bronze example with the same kind of lacquered finish.

Glad you asked.....thought I'd bring up a refresher on these badges....I purchased the one on the right before really researching it.....gold fever I guess.....they both look gold from the front but from researching the forum the awarded gold SA badges were only numbered up to 3000. As you can see the one on right's reverse looks bronze from the back and the one on the left numbered 953 looks gold. From the research it's been commented that the bronze finish on some of the badges could and apparently have been polished until they look gold. I'm far from being the expert and other input would definitely be welcome.
