    Hello,

Sorry, but IMO that is a fake medal and a fake ribbon.

    Best regards,
    Tom

The one with 16 marked next to it in the photo is the same medal as mine. Blackopps

          Hello,

The base metal and finish on the one you show does not look correct. As far as I know, originals of this decoration should be in zinc only and they are very susceptible to loss of finish. In most cases these will appear dull and gray. Yours does not appear to be zinc and that copper coloration is highly suspect IMO.

For comparison, I am showing an original Second Class in Bronze with Swords:

          Best regards,

There's one I bought to examine .... total fake for sale here in the UK as reproductions. I'll find the link.

These were for sale on Ebay.uk by several vendors who were really the same person using a Dollar and Euro coins on their photographs.

Please compare the brooch pins on the original medals with modern brooch pin as seen on the medal you posted. The original brooch pins have a base width that is substantially shorter than the width of the ribbon. On the modern brooch pin the base is just about as wide as the ribbon width. Also note the areas circled in orange: The original brooch pins have a much different hinge end than that of the cruder, more modern brooch pin.

And this is an illustration of why I said in my first posting that the ribbon is bad too:
