Still not 100% sure, but I think that this one might have been cast from an original Type I. At first I thought that it was an extremely beaten up original, but that wouldn't explain the areas of missing stippling or the filed down eyelet.
Any chance of a photo of the suspension loop and the edge of the medal itself ?

I heared that before of those spots that are missing the stipling.
Could be caused by heavily wear...?

Don't be believe everything you hear. Maybe if it was proudly worn on a medal bar for 20 or 30 years you would see such wear.

In reality very few opportunities ever arose (for your average SS type) to wear these medals.

I honestly don't know quite what to make of this one...all the details are exact and it doesn't really look like a cast, but there is something really 'rough' looking about the whole thing, so maybe it is just a bad strike. That being said, however, the eyelet still bothers me in as much as I have never seen one so small as this one. Hopefully Antonio will chime in with a second opinion.
Here is a photo of mine for comparison, which has also been knocked about a bit and shows similar dings, but the stippling has remained intact.
