The details on the reverse are extremely weak ... crisp originals are commonly (and cheaply) available so I'd give this medal a very wide berth

Hello,

Hard to be certain based on those pictures. It could be a heavily worn original, but it could also be a fake made from a soft, lead-based metal. Is there any marking on the suspension ring? Even if it is real, it looks like someone scratched the hell out of the front and that damage will hurt the value and collectibility. As Ian says, unquestionable originals can be had for cheap. I would pass on this one and wait for a better one to come along.
