Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to make anything out on this photo but Generalmajor (not Generalleutnant) Walter Scholl's known awards are as follows:

Iron Cross 2nd Class (1914)
Iron Cross 1st Class (1914)
Württemberg Military Merit Order, Knights Cross
Honour Cross with Swords
Wehrmacht Long Service Decorations (unsure which class)
Wound Badge in Black
War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords
War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords

I need to be closer possible to history because I have to make the supervision for german uniforms (and awards) used in a movie.
Scholl will be in this movie...

His ribbon bar seems to be made in the "Bavarian" style, so that could be something of note if making a replica for the movie.

• Bavaria Military Merit Cross w/Silver Crown and Swords
• Hindenburg Cross w/Swords
• Long Service Medal/cross w/ WH Eagle in Silver
• Long Service Medal/cross w/ WH Eagle in Gold

Need help guys, because from the picture it looks a 8-9 place ribbon bar.

WHAT COULD BE THE OTHER AWARDS ON THE BAR?

I think it will be impossible made a custom bar in Bavarian style.

Hey Antonio, it's so grainy but the one on the far right that is cut off looks like it possibly could be a praguerburg spange for the Sudetenland medal.

He did not have the Bavarian Military Merit Order.

From looking at this again I think this is a 6-place ribbon bar (though we cannot see where the ribbon bar ends in this photo) and it is most likely made up of the medals I've already mentioned. I think this is the best you can do with just this photo to go by.

Also, you need to look at his service record to determine which long service medals he had (gold and silver eagle devices on the bar would only denote 12 years service).

The bar is made in the "Bavarian/Southern German" style with each medal being represented by two ribbons- hence why the bar looks so long. I cannot post photos, so cannot illustrate what I am trying to explain.

You are absolutely correct Pierce, bavarian mounted bars have double ribbon for each single award!

Scholl was in the Army since 1904, so he should have had more than 25 years of service. So eagles should be both in gold (I've just noticed I wrote one in Silver! ).

It seems strange to me that he had not one (or more) of the "strange" medals/orders we usually see in WWI vet ribbon bars... (yes, I know nothing about these "strange" WWI or regional military awards!!!)
