    Blue Division Medal w/ packet

    Hello,
I bought this many years ago at the OVMS show in Fort Mitchell. I've never had it reviewed before. I feel good about the packet, but not sure on the medal and ribbon. The medal ring is unmarked. The ribbon doesn't glow and feels like the typical period German ribbon, but not sure why it has red loops at the edges rather than the typical black. Appreciate your help.
    Thank you,
    Dale

Thanks guys, glad to hear all is original, but is this a normal ribbon or a fluke in production? All the ribbons I've seen on the WAF have black edges.

                Hello,
I saw this thread - http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=780897 - and see that there were a couple of examples with red edged ribbons like mine shown above. There was no conclusion as to the originality of these ribbons, but mine posted above was determined to be original. Can anyone tell me if there was a final determination that the red edged ribbons are original wartime German?

I'd like to know as I have a good length of original black edged ribbon that I can put with this set if necessary.
                Thank you,
                Dale

I guess no one has any info on the originality of the red edged ribbon?

Patrick seems to think they are post-war .. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=834987

Thanks Ian. First time I've seen someone determine it to be postwar. Anybody else? Other than the red edge, it has all of the characteristics of original wartime German ribbons, though I'm by no means an expert.

Yes, the ribbon with the red line in the edge was made in Spain at least ten years after the end of the war.
