    Tank Destruction Badges

    Hello,

I am building a display for a relative and need two tank destruction badges. The thing I do not understand is the variation between prices on the dealer sites. For example, we know that a nice field worn DKiG goes from 1800-2200 dollars. That is pretty much universal.

For the Tank Destruction Badges, I've seen huge variations between prices for similar item. Right now, I can show you one for 1050 dollars and another for 1500 dollars. That is a 450 dollar difference between two identical items. Talking with friends, I hear that really nice examples can be found for about 6-800 dollar range.

So- collector to collector discussion here, what is the reasonable price for a really nice Tank Destruction Badge?

Hi Paul, I think a fair price for a nice TDB, collector to collector, could be as your friend said, betwen 600 and 800.

    My books:

    - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
    - THE SS TK RING
    - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
    - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
    - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

    and more!

      Thank you Antonio.

I need 2 and I had rather not pay 1500 for one.

        Agree with that. J

$600 would be an absolute steal IMO.
Realistically they go between $8 to $900 on the estand.
          Hope that helps.

This morning I viewed 5 Silver TDBs on one site. Prices for these TDBs ranged from $1,400 to $1,600.

Those prices explain why these particular TDBs have remained on that site for over a year.

At the recent SOS I saw a number of Silver TDBs. The ones I was aware of that sold fell into the $700-$800 range.

If you are looking for a set of two TDB in same condition then you probably don't have that flexibility to go for the cheapest ones.

Thanks for the intel everyone! I agree that over 1000 dollars seems to be way too much.

Agree! USD 1000 is a maximum, IMO.

                    Paul,
Keep your eyes on estand as they pop up on a regular basis for less than a thousand. Good luck!

TDBs reasonably priced are out there if one has some patience.

Here is one that I picked up today. It does not look to have ever been issued. Both the tank and back plate are steel. At one time it had black wool backing but only a remnant remains.

                        Thanks everyone!

Tim, that is a beautifully displayable piece. I would be very happy with something like that, even without the backing. Is one in that condition closer to the 600 dollar area?

Yes, this example is in that range as far as I am concerned.

However, other than the missing wool backing, it is in excellent + condition so dealers will still most likely price it in the $700-800 range.
