I've just received this & a little worried as the Swastika appears to be painted.

Do you guys think it's a fake?

I may have answered my own question. Have any of you looked at your medals under UV?

I thought I'd give it a go........ Nothing on anything except the 25 Yr look at the areas at the bottom of the arms & the wreath. This isn't light reflection or glare but a glow from the UV!

I think the medal is genuine, I'm not sure that black lighting medals as such metal or the finish concludes to much ?

If it was a fake, it's the best 25 out there ! I suspect you'll find when the experts look at it they'll think it's genuine.

Hi Don, I am very much in agreement with Marcus on this. Nothing wrong with the medal it is just that the enamel is thinly applied.

Thank you Gentlemen, I'm getting paranoid in my old age, must be the chocolate withdrawal, I ate so much of the stuff over Xmas.

i see nothing wrong with this 25. well done on the set .i think the faithful service set off three together are an awsume sight and one i am lucky also to own. can i ask did you replace the 25 and now have this one or did you get the 50 first?? then work down to the 25

I got the 50 Yr first (by accident, it came as part of a deal from someone who owed me). I usually prefere to collect "downwards" anyway, other wise if I start to work from the lowest award to the highest, I either can't find, or can't afford the highest version. So these days I get higher grade first & usually the lower ones are easier to find........ (famous last words...... )

While you're here Chris, I'd appreciate your view on a Silver DRL that dropped on my plate this morning. I posted it on the Tinnie.... etc forum

The medals are fine.

That isnt glowing,that is reflection.Thats normal off any metallic surface.
Blacklighting is pretty pointless on metal but it does show zinkpest.

I dont think you have any thing to worry about.
