Where do I buy Souval reproductions ?????

    Dear Sirs.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy Souval reprodutions? I'm looking for Souvals reproductions of the German Cross and the Anti Partisan Badge.

    Any information is very welcome.

    In anticipation
    Jules

I don't know if there is any actual location where you can purchase post war Souvals anymore.

My best guess would be to just look around online or at military shops & shows.

Many of the post war Souval pieces have become collectible in there own right, so they are begining to command slightly higher prices than they once did.

    At any rate, good luck.
    Regards,
    Chris

Always interested in buying Ribbon Bars or anything Ribbon Bar related!!

      Hi Chris.

Thanks a lot. Yes they are very nice and being that nice I had hoped, that someone had specialized in them.
Anyway thanks again for your answer.

      The search goes on.......

As far back as the 1960's there were fakes of the Souval fakes - fakers, ignorant of the general opinion of Souval badges, sometimes used Souval pieces to make their master molds.

Keep in mind that, as far as I remember, no one in their right mind thirty or forty years ago was willing to take the chance that anything with Souval markings could be proven to be pre-'45 (other than Azad Hind badges, which there was a vagure awareness that Souval might have been the sole manufacturer).

Before you go plunking down dollars or euros on Souval badges, keep in mind that most of their post war product line was of items that they never legitimately manufactured pre-'45. And a lot of the "restrikes" of war-time awards actually came from dies that were created long after the war was over.

In the sixties, many collectors were actually reluctant to buy "RS" or "L/58" marked badges straight from veterans, such was the distrust of Souval material. Once another collector saw those markings on a badge, there was no chance that he was going to want it - even as a space filler...
