    Another Luftschutz Medal

    Hi guys,

This Luftschutz Medal was another purchase I made over the weekend at a small military show. I've always like these medals, especially when they are in nice condition and have brooch-mounted ribbons.

    Best regards,
    Tom

        A nice one Tom!
I see some big flaws on it, maybe zinc?

        My books:

        - THE SS TK RING
        - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL

I see the flaw at 1 o'clock on the reverse and it looks darker on this screen for some reason ?

            Hi guys,

Thanks to all for the comments.

Just to clarify, this is a lightweight example in aluminum. The weight is 12.2 grams.

Here are larger pictures so that the production defects on both the front and reverse are more clearly visible.

            Best regards,
            Tom

A closer view. Suspension ring is marked '10' for Förster & Barth.

                  Katz & Deyhle, Pforzheim

Here is a zinc Katz & Deyhle Luftschutz Medal from the M.A.P.S. Military Show today. This one was originally brooch-mounted, but someone went and cut off the brooch pin and a section of the ribbon. The suspension ring is marked '60'.

                  Best regards,
                  Tom
