Rough period home made medal bars, lets see yours!

We all have seen the beautiful professionally made bars. What folks dont seem to really celebrate are the homemade examples, which we see many times in period photographs. These seem to be undesirable by many due to their overall rough looks or questions on originality.

Lets see yours. I do not want to see bars that folks know are not legit. I want to see bars that you think are period.

Here is one of my favorites.

First is a straight on view of the bar. The second is with the medals lifted up

Very nice, i am especially fond of medal bars which feature the Winterslacht im Osten medal. Especially rare to find a bar with the war merit medal. Thanks for showing

Thanks Robin! I bought it because of the KVM. Most theorize he was something like an official... perhaps a railway worker. They would have been entitled to all of these medals. The KVM was for civilians only.

          Hi guys,

I'll use the Hindy as an excuse to sneak in here

The Godet (I know, it's Imperial) and not TR, has a cardboard bar and the other... replaced ring, safety pin and a lot of sewing.

          Cheers,

          Jamie.

BTW nothing lights up on the Godet--- cardboard or thread.

This may work here? Procured from the vet recipient's family in Germany. Produced of rather crude construction, lack of padding and non conforming order of precedence suggests an expedient construction

Not sure if this qualifies as a "medalbar", but it is sure "homemade"........

Those are superb examples. That cardboard version is definitely tops!

Also, the KVK2/HK on the HK ribbon is really something. I wonder if it was worn like that.

Ray, that is one one awesome duo!

                          Ron,

Thank you for sharing those awesome bars. I have not seen a mini bar like that before.

Also, I am really into the top medal bar, with the campaign clasps. I bet the man who wore it had some amazing stories.
