    Well.....

......... I think posting them in the Imperial Forum will garner more responses !
But, I found them anyway and they look fine to me.

            I figure...

...that I want them. I love all of the different variations that are to be found in the helmets, wreaths, and bows of the different manufacturers.
            Regards,
            Steven

              Thanks guys.

Yes it appears a host of manufacturers made these much like alot of other Imperial items. Does anyone have a clue as to manufacturers w/o maker marks? I assume this would be an almost impossible task

I don't know if would be possible, as there aren't very many charachteristics of the design found in other types of awards from the period. The bow, in my opinion, would probably be a good place to start cross-referencing (if other awards had the same type of bow). I now own 5 WW I badges (1 gold, 1 silver, and 3 black), and not a single one has the same helmet or bow. From what I have seen, there may be more variations in the bow than the 5 or 6 that are found in the design of the helmet. On a side note, I did see one on e-bay recently that was of Imperial design, but had L/56 on the lower left of the helmet reverse-had to be of post 1935 manufacture right?

I would think so. This was a common practice for WW1 EK1's. WW2 made with an LDO stamp. The L/* WW1 Wound Badges must be fairly rare I would think, as I have not seen many.

The L/56 badge did not sell, so I contacted the seller and I am trying to see if I can buy it outright for a reasonable price. I don't know how it will turn out as I offered the opening bid priceby paypal, and their reply was that they paid more for it than that and that they would rather keep it.??? Hello, if 1 person placed a bid that is the price that they would have got the badge for.? The condition was excellent, I only wish that I would have placed the opening bid ($25.00).

If you can .... I would suggest that you post a few pictures here for the experts to look at. That way, you can be sure of authenticity before you take the plunge.

The WW1 with the L/56 you refering were made during the war2, i think they are scarce and mine i got it from Detlev for sometime ago with the LDO bag in stone mint condition.
